Kastri is an old village which is situated 35km southeast of Rethimno and south of Perama. It is at the north side of Psiloritis. Kastri took its name from a Venetian castle that used to be up in the mountains. Visitors can see several churches and remnants of Roman and early Byzantine period in the area of Kastri. |
