Preveza
is a city with rich history from ancient
Greek and roman times. In the vicinity is the ancient city of Nicopolis
built in the 1st century by the Roman Emperor Octavian August after his
triumph at the Aktion naval battle against Anthony and Cleopatra. The
new museum of Nikopolis is nearby and further are the Necromantion of
Aheron, the ancient Kassopi and the castle town of Parga.
