After a lavish renovation the house has an entirely new character. The two buildings and the
bungalows stand in a large green garden. Entrance with reception, modern entertainment rooms

a lazy river with children's pool and one of the largest pools on the island. During cooler

ENERGY SAVING:
- Energy saving by using dimmer control in public areas and by using energy saving light

- Discontinuation of single-use products at breakfast and in all restaurants.

Reduction of Plastic & Aluminium Packaging:
- Preference for returnable glass bottles. Where not possible, PET recyclable plastic
containers.
- Plastic laundry & sanitary bags have been replaced with environmentally friendly
paper bags.
- Plastic cups & plates have been replaced with paper or glass.
- Greaseproof paper instead of aluminium foils (wherever possible).
- Discontinuation of aluminium drinks cans or recycling those used.
- Plastic refuse bags replaced with paper base in bedrooms.

- Tuna which has been fished without endangering dolphins.
- Facial tissues, napkins & toilet paper from non-chlorine bleached paper from
renewable plantations. Recycled toilet paper.

- Only sports activities that do not pollute the atmosphere (e.g. mountain bikes, tennis,
water sports).
- 100% environmentally friendly bed mattresses.
- Non-CFC room refrigerators that do not contribute to ozone depletion.
- Water soluble paint used throughout the hotel where possible.

- We have been awarded with the European Blue Flag clean sea & organised beach.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Please help the Grecotel Rhodos Royal to become one of the most Eco-friendly hotels in
Rhodes.
- If you see dripping taps, electrical problems etc. please report them immediately to
reception.
- Please help to keep the beach clean - ashtrays are provided under the umbrellas for your
cigarettes and refuse bins for all rubbish.
- Enjoy your refreshment, beer or water from a returnable glass bottle. Please help us, and
the local municipality, to reduce solid waste.
- As there is no battery recycling programme on Rhodes, please try to take your used
batteries home with you to dispose of safely in your own country.
- Please read the bathroom card carefully.
- When shopping, please try not to use plastic bags whenever possible.
- Please take a shower before using the pool if you have used sun oil - this saves
pollution of the water and energy saving for the pool filter system.
