The Argolida county is found South West of Athens on the Peloponnese peninsula. After crossing the Corinth Canal and a piece of Korinthia the scenery changes as the roads become lined with orange and lemon trees and the Argolida unfolds. Famous all over the world for the ancient sites of Mycenae and the Epidavros Theatre, the Argolida is also favoured by the Athenians due to its close proximity to Athens (just one and a half hours) and excellent array of beaches around the coast.

Visit one of the most ancient pyramids in the world at Argoliko, ancient beehive tombs (tholos) in many areas, the most famous being at Mycenae, Ancient Tiryns (Tiryntha) which is an often forgotten UNESCO World Heritage site just outside of Nafplion with cyclopean walls, cisterns and an acropolis from before the Mycenaean Era.

Take a trip to the oldest continually inhabited city on Europe, Argos and see archaeological areas, the Larissa castle high up on the hill and the local market selling local produce, clothing and household items which is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Further down the coast close to the Ancient Theatre of Epidavros, the Temple of Asklepio and the museum take the time to visit the seaside village of Old Epidavros which is charming and inland the Museum of Natural History in Ligourio where there is a wonderful collection of minerals, tools and fossils on show. For something a little different in the same ara visit the old Water Mill which has been revived where visitors learn how to mill flour and make cookies or bread with the product.

On the Southernmost tip of the Argolida the towns of Porto Heli, Ermioni, Kosta & Troizina communicate with the Argosaronic isles of Spetes and Poros and there is also a cruise which leaves daily to Hydra/Spetses/Poros and sometimes Monemvasia during the Summer months.
