Overview
The philosophy of the creation is for the resident of this village to feel the atmosphere of a village, to live and savor nature and, if he so wishes, to participate in rural approaches to daily activity without having to forgo the comforts of modern living. There, enjoyment of one’s personal space does not interfere with the potential to participate in social activities with other “villagers”.
The village’s name is "Seagull's Bay". The name was inspired by the beach which is embraced by seashell rocks and serves as a shelter for seagulls.
The region’s name is Kyparissos and is full of herbs. It is believed that in antiquity Hippocrates initiated his students at Kyparissos following a particular ritual.
In any case, one thing is certain: the locale inspires special sentiments.
At the construction phase, they paid particular attention to maintenance, protection and preservation of the natural environment and wild life.
For example, all preexisting arkeuthos trees - a species of cedar that thrives only in Kos - were left intact. The architecture is in complete harmony with the environment proposing only to add a pleasant and cheerful note to the landscape.
The village covers an area of 20.000 m² and is comprised of three “neighborhoods”, the Upper, Lower and Central neighborhood, that include :
- 18 three-story lodges - each with its own garden
- the hospitality hall
- the reception area
- the restaurant
- the bar
- the tea bar
- the boutique
- the library
- the day care center
- the massage and aromatotheraphy facility
- the swimming pool
The ranch is in itself an additional special note to the settlement and is open to visits. It features a vineyard, domestic animals, fruit-bearing trees and a vegetable garden, all adhering to biological specifications.
All the produce is of course delivered and used in the kitchen.
