Overview
Villa Sofita is a Venetian stone maisonette, traditionally built the 19th century, with a pool of 25 m2 size. It is situated in the traditional village of Maroulas which is just 10 km from the town of Rethymno. In the village there is a beautiful traditional café. In 1,5 km there is a taverna and a mini market. The distance to the beach is 3 km.
Sofita is a 2 storey traditional stone built house consisting of a bathroom and 1 bedroom with the possibility of accommodating 1 extra person in the sofa-beds which is in the living room. This house is unique for those who would like to taste the unspoilt side of Crete, traditionally, and living in these old houses from the Venetian period.
A car is considered to be essential for exploring the whole island as Maroulas village is an excellent starting point for touring the surrounding area of Rethymno and Chania.
