Guests at Olympic Star can order a continental breakfast to start their day. Light meals and refreshing cocktails are prepared at the snack bar throughout the day. Greek taverns and cafés can also be found within walking distance from the property.

Accommodation

Our unit has 18 new built and cozy apartments.11 of them are two room apartments for 2-4 people, 7 are studios (one room apartment) for 1-2 people. All apartments are equipped with telephone, radio, air condition, refrigerator, safety box, satellite TV, kitchen fully equipped, bath with shower, sunny balconies with nice view.

Location

Hersonissos is the most cosmopolitan tourist resort of Crete. The location, beauty, good climate and hospitable people gave to Hersonissos one of the first positions in the tourism market. It is an ideal holiday destination, as it combines sea and mountain.

On it’s beaches and little bays, visitors can swim safely, enjoy water sports and all kinds of entertainment while in the mountains, traditional villages of Koutouloufari, Piskopiano and Upper Hersonissos with the old stone houses are ideal for a taste of the local cuisine .

Hersonissos also has several seaside taverns and restaurants with both Cretan and international cuisine but also nightclubs – bars for a lively nightlife.

This place, however, has a profound historical past, as evidenced by numerous archaeological discoveries from the Minoan era. Had quickly developed as an independent city with the ancient goddess Artemis as protector. Many natural disasters and wars occurred, but during the Roman times the city flourished. Many Roman works are preserved (fountain, theater, water and sanitation projects, port facilities, etc.).

In the early years of Christianity, the Apostle Titus founded here Episcopal headquarters while the ruins of early Christian churches, one on the rock of St. Paraskevi and the other at St. Nicholas are preserved till today.

The religious sentiment of residents continued in recent years and this can be observed by the many churches and chapels in the area.

Of course, also the newer tradition has influenced Hersonissos. The folklore museum “Lychnostatis” is a place that keeps alive the traditional way of life and presents the folk culture of the region.
