Our place is located by Stavros beach that became famous and known across the world in 1964 when Anthony Quinn portrayed legendary Alexis Zorbas (known as Zorbas the Greek) in the film of the same name. The well known, iconic film sees Alexis Zorbas instructing the tradition Greek dance “syrtaki”

Our outdoor dining area offers delicious dishes based on Cretan cuisine, prepared exclusively from carefully selected fresh local products of Cretan land and cooked in a traditional, home-like way inside the hotel. Essential ingredients are the virgin olive oil, cheese, yogurt and the fresh seasonal fruits, herbs and vegetables. All the above are of our own family production, from our little farm and vegetable garden right next to the hotel.

Hotel Zorbas Beach is built on the beach of Stavros, a short walking distance from the village of Stavros in the peninsula of Akrotiri in Chania.

The Peninsula of Akrotiri, located north east of Chania, is known for its calming and relaxing way of life. It offers some of the most stunning and scenic beaches of all Chania. The most beautiful include Kalathas beach, Ag. Onoufris, Maherida beach, Tersanas beach, Marathi beach, Loutraki beach and of course our very own Stavros beach located just a few steps from the hotel.

Located just 13km from the city centre of Chania and 12km from the International Airport of Chania, the hotel will pleasantly surprise you.

For all of your everyday needs the village of Stavros offers access to supermarkets and taverns/restaurants. Just a short journey 6 km away you can find the village of Kounoupidiana which is host to a larger variety of shops and amenities including banks, post office and supermarkets in addition to other shops and outlets.

The area is close to the historical and archaeological sites and in ideal location from which to explore Western Crete. The friendliness and Cretan hospitality of our hotel stuff can be very helpful for the arrangement of car rentals and excursions to worth visiting places.

The impressive Monastery of Gouverneto also known as the Monastery of “John the Hermit” stands close to Hotel Zorbas Beach and just a little further you can visit the Monastery of Catholicon which is beautifully built in the depths of a wild gorge and can be viewed by all. 

There is a regular bus service from the hotel to the centre of Chania and vice versa. Bus schedules vary in frequency depending on the season.
