A roof terrace with a view

You won’t believe it till you see it for yourselves, but it’s a fact nonetheless: the view from the AthensWas roof terrace and rooftop bar is truly astounding. The Acropolis looks more magnificent from up here than from anywhere else, because it looks like it might through a magnifying glass.

From May to October if weather allows, the rooftop terrace and bar opens its doors under the starry sky with spectacular panoramic view of Athens.

Accommodation

AthensWas is a hotel designed in line with the core principles of classical modernism. The aesthetic of its rooms and communal spaces is defined by clean, uncluttered lines and natural materials – chiefly Greek marble and wood. Still, it leaves the eye with an impression which dances clear of the imposing, gracing the luxury with delightfully deft touches which can often be described as playfull. The end results is warm spaces in which the visitor feels utterly at home from the moment they walk through the door – the best possible recipe for a calm and restful stay.
Every room has a veranda from which our guests can enjoy one of the most wonderful aspects of Athenian life: the pleasure of relaxing outdoors.

Location

In a magical corner of the city

Dionysiou Areopagitou is rightly considered the most beautiful promenade in Athens; indeed, many would call it one of the most attractive walkways in Europe. The walkway skirts around the sacred rock of the Acropolis and the Parthenon, the city’s most important and awe-inspiring classical monument and the emblem of Athens since antiquity.

It also connects the New Acropolis Museum, recognized internationally as one of the most beautiful and fascinating museums in the world, with the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Athens’ superb Roman-era theatre which hosts concerts, operas and theatrical performances every summer, gracing the Athens Festival with its splendid aura.
