Sofia, a design hotel that was constructed in 1985 and fully renovated late 2008, has 25 rooms on two floors. On the south coast of Crete, 25 klm from the town of Rethymnon, 90 mins (120klm) from Heraklion airport and 75 mins (110klm) from Chania airport, the hotel makes for the ideal spot away from the overdeveloped tourist towns & resorts.

Within walking distance are a multitude of supermarkets, traditional tavernas, stylish Café bars, cash point machines , post office, pharmacies and shops. Surrounded by mountains that are peppered with traditional Cretan villages, the hotel is perfect base for those wanting to explore everyday life here on Crete.

The reception will provide information for local bus & boat/ferry times. Staff will be happy to arrange Taxi and Car hire for you & to assist transfers from the airport & harbour to the hotel. For your convenience, we also offer fax/photocopying & postal services. Safety deposit boxes are available for hire in the reception.

Sofia offers a home cooked breakfast buffet. Most guests choose to take breakfast al fresco in the garden terrace, a delightful oasis in the heart of Sofia. An all day Snack menu is available until 10pm offering fresh juices, cocktails and many more. Guests can avail of the outdoor pool & late bar within our self catering complex situated just 50 meters from the main building. From time to time barbeques with live Cretan music and dancing are organized for our guests.

The Internet corner provides internet access for all guests that wish to keep up to date. Wifi is also available within the hotel. These services are free of charge for all guests. Our multi lingual library boasts a variety of novels and non-fiction books as well as providing information for local events. In the T.V. lounge, weekly Greek lessons are held for all guests that wish to dabble with the Greek language, please note that there is a small charge for this service.
