The city of Rethimno is a small coastal city that located between of Chania and Heraklio at length of beach in extent roughly 5km. The old city, which is built in the Eastern side of castle, Fortezza, is magical. Walking in the narrow paths of the enetian city you will have the opportunity to admire enetian buildings, the turcish minarets and the old buildings that have become luxurius restaurants or traditional taverns.
You will daydream that you are back in time. You will buy presents from the shops and you will have your coffe in beautiful cafes that are found in Platanos area.
In the old harbour you will admire the lighthouse but also all the enetic architecture. If you wish you will have the opportunity to taste the famous Cretan coocing or even others flavours in restaurand in the harbour.
The region of Pigi village which is located the “Limas Apartments” is suburb of Rethimno, very guiet and have an easy access to the national road so you can discover the inside of the town hith the traditional Cretan villages and the beautiful beaches of the south Crete.
You can visit a lot archaelogical places of region as the monastery of Arkadi in wich many Cretan people where exploded during the turcish domination, the ancient Eleptherna, the cavern of Zoniana and a lot of Byzantine churches that you will meet in your walks since the region is ideal for long walks.
