Fun Excursion for the whole Family: 

Arkadi Monastery - Margarites Pottery Village -Barbecue - Melidoni Cave - Swimming, Snorkeling

We collect you by minibus from your hotel and drive to the monastery of Arkadi. 

Before we set off on our bikes you will have leisure to visit the historic and very famous monastery. Arkadi played a very important part in Crete\'s history of resistance against the Turks and you will also be able to see a fascinating collection of icons, weapons and clerical items in the museum. We then get on our bikes and cycle through stunning sceneries, olive groves and orange trees, passing through the villages of Amnatos and Kyrianna. On the way down we will stop for coffee break at the family Taverna Faragi. 

Next important halt is the lovely village of Asteri. You get a glimpse of how Cretan people still live and work their traditional way. We then pass through Hamalevri and eventually arrive at Stavromenos, where the minibus will be waiting to take us to Margarites. Just outside the village we get back on the bikes and you will get a chance to explore this beautiful location, which is famous for its pottery for centuries. Then we\'ll meet up and have a relaxing and joyful barbecue somewhere in the wild! After the Barbecue we cycle down to Perama, hopping on the bus to drive to Melidoni and visit the famous cave. 

The history of this amazing archaeological site goes back thousands of years and it is said to be the mythical home of Talos, giant bronze protector of Crete. From here we get back on the bus and visit a sandy beach, where you can snorkel, swim or just laze in the sun, before we take you back to your hotel at the end of a perfect day. 

If at any stage of the day you wish to hop onto the mini bus for a rest, no problem. We just put the bike on the trailer and continue. We recommend you bring swimming costumes, money (not credit cards) for coffee breaks and the extras and wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

Included in the price: Guide, insurance, bike hire and equipment, support vehicle, fruit on the way, barbecue lunch and use of snorkeling equipment.
