Cyprus offers a wide variety of holiday accommodation, ranging from modern, large and luxurious establishments, to small and simple family run operations:

Most Hotels and Hotel Apartments have swimming pools, tennis courts, sports facilities, sauna, central air conditioning, etc…. The rates charged by these establishments are approved by the Cyprus Tourism Organization and most hotels offer special off-season discounts on the accommodation rates, usually during from the 16th November to the 15th March, excluding the fortnight between the 20th December and 6th January. English is spoken in all hotels; French and German are also widely spoken.

HOTELS GUIDE

The Cyprus Hotels Guide includes the Hotels and Tourist Establishments officially registered and classified by the Cyprus Tourism Organization in accordance with the provisions of the Hotels and Tourist Establishments Law and Regulations. The Hotels are classified into categories from 5 to 1 Star, “Hotels without Star” and “Guest Houses”, as opposed to Luxury, A’, B’, C’ class of Tourist Establishments (i.e. Hotel Apartments, Tourist Villas, Tourist Villages and Camping Sites). All the accommodation establishments are listed by town, area, type and class and are in alphabetical order. Detailed information on terms of stay, rates, discounts and facilities offered by each hotel operation is included in the Guide, a copy of which can be obtained, free of charge, from any of Cyprus Tourism Organization Offices in Cyprus and abroad.

HOTELS RESERVATIONS
It is recommended that reservations for accommodation are made in advance. Visitors are advised to apply to their Travel Agent or directly to the hotel of their choice for the reservations. The Cyprus Hotel Association’s offices at Larnaka International Airport can assist all incoming passengers with hotel reservations, Tel(04) 643186, Fax:(04) 640358.

The Cyprus Tourrism Organisation’s informaton offices at Larnaka International Airport, Pafos International Airport, Lemesos International Airport, Lemesos Harbour and in all towns, are in the disposal of all visitors for any assistance regarding hotel booking.

 

- Airlines

More than 35 Airlines, including Cyprus Airways, the island’s national carrier, operate scheduled flights from and to Larnaka International Airport (5km from Larnaka town centre) and Pafos International Airport (15km east of Pafos town).

  • Reconfirmation of flights must be made by passengers 72 hours prior to departure.
  • Airlines do not provide transport between the airports and the town terminals.
  • Besides Airlines, Travel Agencies in Cyprus provide booking services and assist visitors in all matters concerning air travel.

Visitors arriving in Cyprus by air, may enter the Republic only thought the International airports of Larnaka and Pafos.

All airports in the part of the Republic illegally occupied by the Turkish invasion forces, have been declared by the Government of Cyprus as prohibited ports of entry and exit, and no visitor should enter or leave the Republic thought these ports.

Note: The Airport tax is included in the airfare.

Notes:

  1. All museums and archaeological sites remain closed on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Easter Sunday (Greek Orthodox.)
  2. During the rest of the Public Holidays the major archaeological sites: Kolossi Castle, Kourion site, Sanctuary of Apollo, Tombs of the King, Mosaics in Pafos and Hala Sultan Tekkesi, remain open from 07:30-17:00 hrs (09:00-18:00 hrs). The Cyprus Archaeological Museum in Lefkosia and the District Archaeological Museum in Lemesos and Pafos remain also open from 10:00-13:00 hrs.
  3. Opening and Closing times in Museums and Archaeological sites as well as Entrance Fees are subject to alterations without notice. During the Summer period, the archaeological sites stay open longer.
  4. Free admittance on Saturdays and Sundays to all State Museums and Archaeological sites for Cypriots.
  5. The Department of Antiquities can issue for a specific person special entry cards for a period of one day for C£ 2,50 and for a period of seven days for C£ 5,00
